Regarding the Competition Changes

First of all thank you for the courage and sharing your concerns. Voices like yours have resulted in Would-be Challenge 2 report announcement, however to address other points you’ve mentioned:

  1. Adding a stereo camera to the current setup would significantly hurt both the lidar’s and 4-camera setup field of views. While it’d make some sense to include that as an option - we’re currently trying very hard not to introduce any new changes - so we won’t do that. Have in mind that lidar’s data is effectively closer to what Stereolabs setup would have produced - than a single stereo camera from other brand. When it comes to the hardware on your side - we strongly believe you can rely on the simulation. (Bonus: Question about Gazebo Simulation Model for the LSLIDAR C16 )
  2. Please have a look into a Rulebook - in order to qualify for the next Task the current sum of all categories is taken into the account - so technical work outside of Test Drives - like sharing your simulation environments and so on - definitely makes a difference too.
